When you book a hotel stay for Spring Break 2023 in the summer of 2022, you position yourself to secure a reservation under a flexible policy allowing for cancelation should you be unable to travel after all at the best rate.

Waiting until even a month before you travel can result in you being forced to book a hotel just because it has availability, or a room just because it is the only one left, which can result in feelings of disappointment that can negatively color the whole vacation experience.
