Last month, I had the privilege to join a group of Brownell advisors on a trip to Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado. Park Hyatt Beaver Creek was the second stop on our week-long trip and it’s safe to say we saved the best for last!
The resort offers 193 cozy accommodations with modern mountain lodge vibes, featuring comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms, and stunning views of Beaver Creek. Whether you’re relaxing at Exhale Spa, enjoying the balcony views, or dining at the hotel’s restaurants, Park Hyatt Beaver Creek provides a luxurious retreat. Plus, with ski-in/ski-out access and a range of outdoor summer activities like white-water rafting and hiking, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this resort throughout all seasons.
Arrival Experience
Park Hyatt Beaver Creek boasts a jaw-dropping lobby with stunning mountain views and a central bar, making it a focal point for guests to relax and enjoy. Situated as the centerpiece of Beaver Creek, the hotel provides picturesque views of both the village and the mountains. The lobby is bright and inviting, with cozy seating areas, TVs, and a well-appointed bar. We were greeted with grapefruit mimosas upon arrival, reflecting the resort’s warm hospitality.
The hotel is family-friendly, and amenities are designed with families in mind, including quiet hours. Recent renovations have refreshed the reception and lobby bar, adding to the vibrant atmosphere, while fire pits outside provide a cozy touch.
Pro Tip: Room renovations are underway, with plans give the current styling a magnificent makeover by Summer 2024.
Accommodations
Standard Queen | Mountain View
Upon arrival at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, I was delighted to find a sumptuous arrangement of decadent chocolates awaiting me in my room, a luxurious perk extended to all our clients. My accommodation, a Standard Queen Room with a Mountain View, provided a cozy retreat where I could savor my morning coffee while observing skiers and snowboarders embarking on their day’s adventures right from the comfort of my bed. For those traveling with larger groups, this room type offers convenient connectivity options, including the Standard two Queen and Standard two Double configurations.
Featuring two queen beds adorned with ultra-soft linens and down duvets, a well-appointed work desk, windows that open to welcome in the crisp mountain air, a humidifier for added comfort, and sophisticated cabin-style wood trim décor, the Standard Queen room ensures a comfortable and spacious stay amidst the picturesque backdrop of Beaver Creek.
Pro Tip: If you book your stay with us or another Hyatt Privé advisory, your room will automatically be upgraded at booking to a mountain view at the time of booking (subject to availability). Contact us to learn more.
Junior Suite with Fireplace | Village View
During my stay, I was able to take a peek at one of the Junior Suites. This 600 square-foot Suite has a King bed, its own fireplace, living area, double vanity (remodeled!) bathroom, and picture-perfect village views.
Pro Tip: the resort is in the middle of a big upgrade! This Junior Suite is one of 30 rooms with a fully remodeled bathroom and by Summer 2024, all 190 accommodations will have a major facelift (I saw with my own eyes but I’m not allowed to share photos, so you’ll just have to trust me). As a Hyatt Privé agency, our clients enjoy priority access to these newly renovated rooms. Just ask!
Exhale Spa
The expansive Exhale Spa at Park Hyatt spans two stories and offers five outdoor jacuzzis, a heated lap pool, and three indoor hot tubs for a traditional Roman Bath experience. I enjoyed a 50-minute signature massage in a beautiful room with mountain views and a fireplace. The cozy ambiance set me up for an hour of pure zen. One of the massage therapists even works with the U.S. Olympics ski team so you know you’re in good hands (literally!).
Dining at Park Hyatt
Mornings started with complimentary breakfast (an exclusive amenity all of our clients receive) at 8100 Mountainside Bar & Grill. This renovated restaurant has everything you could want and the most expansive breakfast buffet setup any of us have ever seen. You can even request a mix of your favorite fruits and vegetables for homemade pressed juice.
We also had the privilege of dining here for dinner on our last night and enjoyed a generous 5-course meal curated by the chef. I highly recommend the wagyu beef and sweet potato gnocchi. In lieu of ordering dessert off the restaurant menu, you can head to the s’mores stations to craft the perfect s’more at one of the several firepits just outside the restaurant.
Enjoy craft cocktails at Brass Bear Bar, the lobby’s grand centerpiece, and stop by the market for grab-and-go necessities.
Beano’s Cabin
Arguably one of the most unique experiences I’ve ever had the privilege to do, we were treated to a magical dinner at Beano’s Cabin. The caveat? The only way to get to Beano’s Cabin is via a 15-minute ride up the mountain in a sleigh ride (a CAT machine to be specific). Straight out of a movie, it started snowing the second we started making our way up the mountain and continued throughout the night. As we continued to ascend the mountain through picturesque Aspen groves, Beano’s rustic log cabin-style restaurant peeks out behind the trees.
Upon arrival, we were provided with champagne, slippers, and coat room facilities with lockers to place our bulky layers. While Beano’s operates as a private club during the day, it opens its doors to the public in the evenings, with reservations often required at least three months in advance during peak times. It’s worth noting that the only way to access the restaurant is via the snow-cat sleigh, which runs every 30 minutes from 5 to 9 pm. We were treated to a delicious 5-course meal in a private dining area and it stands out as a moment I will truly never forget. If you’re interested in securing a reservation, our Hotel Plus team is happy to help.
Snowmobiling Adventure
I crossed more than one activity off the bucket list this trip! Sage Outdoor Adventures guided us on a private snowmobile tour through beautiful terrain about 20 minutes away from the resort. A member of their team picked us up directly from the lobby and dropped us off 5 hours later. Helmets, boots, goggles, and snowsuits are provided so no need to pack these from home.
After a few minutes of warming up and getting used to driving, we were headed for the trails! Not once did I feel unsafe, however, there is still the slight thrill of driving through the trees, making it a perfect family activity with older kids. One of the highlights was stopping at a viewpoint for 360-degree views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Our guide surprised us with a choice of hot chocolate or cider while we soaked in the picture-worthy landscape. If you’re interested in including a half-day adventure during your stay, our Hotel Plus team is happy to coordinate the reservations for you.
Resort Activities
Beaver Creek offers a wide range of activities to suit every preference and season. Guests can enjoy a heated outdoor pool, five outdoor whirlpools, jogging paths, bicycling trails, and an 18-hole golf course within walking distance, with guaranteed tee times for guests. Nearby adventures include fly fishing, hot air ballooning, sleigh rides, and whitewater rafting. Additionally, Exhale Spa features a 5,000-square-foot fitness center offering classes such as Pilates, yoga, personal training, and Peloton Bikes. With so many options available, Beaver Creek is the perfect destination for adventurous families.

Ready to Start Planning?
With the ski school conveniently located right outside the resort, it’s an ideal destination for families looking to hit the slopes. I recommend staying at least 3-4 nights. The mountain offers a variety of trails, including green, blue, and black diamond, catering to skiers of all levels. One of the standout features of Beaver Creek is its exclusive feel, thanks to the entire village being situated within a gated community. Everything in Beaver Creek is easily walkable, and the village boasts amenities like a large ice skating rink at its center.
Compared to Vail Village, Beaver Creek is quieter and more family-oriented, with better gift shops and shopping options, but less nightlife. Another perk is that Beaver Creek Village is connected to the hotel, eliminating the need for shuttle transportation. During our exploration through the village, we dined at a casual and delicious pizza place, Blue Moose, and explored the variety of stores available, which offered a better selection than those in Vail Village. Overall, Park Hyatt Beaver Creek and its surrounding village provide a perfect blend of convenience, luxury, and family-friendly atmosphere for an unforgettable mountain getaway.
